Adam Cohen Joins Metan Development Group, LLC as Sr. Production Executive, Original Programming
Award-winning, development and marketing executive Adam Cohen joins Metan Development Group LLC (Metan) as production executive, original programming, the announcement was made today by Metan’s co-founder Larry Namer.
Launched in February 2009, Metan is a new venture created to develop and distribute entertainment content and media specifically for the Chinese market. In his new role as production executive, Cohen will oversee the company’s original programming and development activities, working in close collaboration with the Hollywood creative community, as well as forge key relationships within the entertainment industry.
"We’re delighted to have Adam join our team," said Namer. "Adam’s strong industry background and experience coupled with his close ties in Hollywood are sure to empower him to successfully develop Metan’s brand and original programming for audiences in China."
Cohen is currently developing the pilot episodes for Metan’s first slate that includes "Hollywood Today," "Music News," "World Film News" and "World Sports Report," (all working titles) as well as evaluating several co-production opportunities for television and the Internet. "I’m honored to be joining Metan at such an exciting time in the global entertainment business," added Cohen. "I look forward to working with the top creative minds in Hollywood, to develop original content for multiple media platforms, specifically for this rapidly emerging market."
Previously, Cohen served as Account Director at Mulholland Drive Entertainment (MDE), a top firm that facilitates and manages brand relationships with the entertainment industry. Prior at MDE, he served as head of marketing, public relations and brand building at Sidetrack Films. His first project, "Favela Rising," was short-listed for the 2007 Academy Awards. He also sold and distributed the feature films "Beautiful Losers" and "The Cobain Project."
Prior to this, Cohen served as vice president of development and producer at indie film company Thor Films, LLC. He successfully produced and distributed the feature "Free" and short film "Goodnight Valentino," that debuted at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. "Goodnight Valentino" has since been archived into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In 2007, he executive produced the short film "Honey Trap," written and directed by Bob Giraldi in 2007.
Before his entry into the film business, Cohen served as executive vice president of Mall Communications Network where he was responsible for was responsible for all sales, sponsorships, real estate, studio marketing accounts and office management.
